Built from the rules, for the shop that services extinguishers
RetestLog keeps the service records, due dates and work orders of fire extinguisher service companies. Here is why we built it and how we work.
Paper tags, clipboards and spreadsheets
An extinguisher company looks after units at many customers, and each unit has its own monthly, annual and six-year dates. In many shops the record of that work is a paper tag on the unit, a form on a clipboard, and a spreadsheet of what is due.
We wanted one place for all of it in a small shop, so we built it. RetestLog keeps each unit’s record, checks it as it saves, lists what is coming due and sends the customer the report.
Every field carries its source
We wrote each field with the rule beside it: NFPA 10 (the National Fire Protection Association standard for portable extinguishers), the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) rule at 29 CFR 1910.157, or the state licensing rule that asks for it. When RetestLog asks for a field, it shows you why, and you can check it against your own copy.
The checklists are based on NFPA 10 and are still being checked against the standard’s own text, so check them against the edition your state uses.
